AB A'B' = 1/4 hip measurement

Draw a rectangle with dotted lines

Point H at hip line

Draw up H (5 cm or 2 inches)= H1

Draw down H (5 cm or 2 inches)= H2

AE = 1/4 waist measurement +( 4 cm or 1,60 inches)- 0,50 cm (dart depth)

Join EH1 with a slight curve

F = middle of AF and half dart

Draw down F vertically = G at the hip line

Draw up G from 4 to 6 cm or 1,60 to 2,40 inches= G1 dart extremity, put 2 cm or 0,80 inch on each side of F = I and J

Join IG1J to draw the dart

ROUNDED OF THE BACK WAIST

Draw down A from 1 to 2 cm or 0,40 to 0,80 inch according to the curve of the back.

Fold the dart, joint AE with a curve.

FONT :

AB and A'B' = 1/4 hip measurement + 1 cm or 0,40 inch ( ease)

Draw a rectangle on dotted line.

Draw up H to (5 cm or 2 inches)= H1

Draw down H to (5 cm or 2 inches)= H2

AE = 1/4 waist measurement+ 4 cm or 2 inches (deph of the 2 darts is 2 cm or 0,80 inch)+ 0,50 cm

Join EH1 with a light curve .

G1 = 5 cm or 2 inches for a smaller waist than 70 cm or 28 inches,

G1 = 6 cm or 2,40 inches for a bigger waist than 70 cm or 28 inches.

G1G2 = 2 cm or 0,80 inch

G: middle of G1G2

G2F1 = 4 cm or 1,60 inch

F1F2 = 2 cm or 0,80 inch

F: middle of F1F2

Draw down verticaly to G and F on 8 cm or 3,20 inches= K1 and K2

Join G1 K1 G2 and F1 K2 F2 to draw up the darts.

ROUNDED OF THE FRONT WAIST

Draw down A from 1/2 to 1 cm0,20 to 0,40 inch. Dart folded, joint AE with a light curve.

Comment :

If EB doesn't reach less then 2,5 cm or 1 inch, reduce the dart width lay 3 cm or 1,20 inch.

If EB beyond 4 cm or 1,60 inch, look to the special skirt's pattern.
